Petal Search is a Huawei search application designed to find apps and internet content from mobile devices. It combines web search results with the discovery of applications available from different sources.
It does not perform the same role as an app store: it can display results that lead to AppGallery or other providers. The search service should not be confused with a browser either, although the application allows users to open web pages.

How Petal Search works
Petal Search allows users to enter a query to find applications or related information. In app searches, results may lead to a store, a developer’s website or another download source. Finding an application does not mean that Huawei developed it or that it is hosted on AppGallery.
The features presented by Huawei include searches for pages, images, videos, products and local services, as well as voice and image search. The Petal Search overview notes that some features vary by region. That description does not guarantee that all of them are available in every version or on every device.
The service has included options such as safe search, dark mode and incognito browsing. These are different functions: a search filter limits certain results, while incognito browsing affects how session data is handled.
Private browsing does not, on its own, imply the absence of cookies, anonymity or the deletion of all external records. A privacy certification should not be interpreted as an unlimited guarantee covering every version and use of an application either.
Finding an installation file does not resolve an application’s dependencies. If an app requires Google services that the device does not include, downloading it through Petal Search does not automatically install those services or guarantee that it will work.
Petal Search availability and installation
Petal Search has an AppGallery listing, with information about the application and download and installation options. Availability for a specific device must be distinguished from the existence of that listing: it may depend on the region, operating system and device compatibility.
The application has been distributed for Android. This does not establish that it can be installed on every Android device or that an equivalent application exists for every version of iOS, Windows or macOS. Accessing a service through a browser is not the same as having a native application for that operating system.
An APK file is an installation package for an Android app. Its presence on a download website does not demonstrate that it is the current version or that the services it connects to remain available. The source of the file, its compatibility and the operation of the service must be distinguished.
